Architect | Project Manager

Firm Ground Architects & Engineers is currently looking for a Job Captain, to add to our team. This person will be responsible for project design and management for a variety of project types. Our ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience, proficiency with Revit, and embodies our people-focused core values. Networking & business development skills a definite plus. Firm Ground is a 13-year-old architecture and interior design firm conveniently located in International Market Square.

Responsibilities

·       Create plans and drawings which clearly outline architectural design of project

·       Utilize knowledge of construction detailing and materials in order to create ideal finished product

·       Conduct site evaluations to ensure quality of work and adherence to design standards

·       Oversee and make recommendations throughout entire construction process

·       Collaborate with various teams to establish goals, schedules and budgets

·       Develop long term Client Relationships

Qualifications

·       Master's degree in architecture or equivalent experience

·       6+ years of experience in architecture

·       Strong organizational, creative and presentation skills

·       Proficient in Revit

·       Sketchup and other rendering software a plus

Project Designer

Summary: 

Coordinates day-to-day project management and design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops project design concepts using computer assisted design software and/or hand sketching.

  2. Directs activities of project team engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents. Selects materials and colors.

  3. Directs daily project activities, status and progress in all design phases of project team and consultants.

  4. Coordinates scope of work with management throughout project process.

  5. Completes construction documentation and construction administration phases of project. Supervises the administration of the project construction including PRs, COs and pay applications.

  6. Monitors project work plans satisfying project schedule, budget parameters, and client contractual obligations.

  7. Interacts and communicates effectively with clients, project consultants, project managers, project superintendents, project design team members, job captain, government and code officials, and construction administrators and specification writers. Builds client rapport.

  8. Performs or assigns site observation and field reports.

  9. Answers inquiries from bidders and issuing agenda.

  10. Coordinates compliance with all government and building code requirements.

  11. Coordinates all government agency and group meeting presentations with management.

  12. Assists with quality control activities for all elements of a project. Reviews job captain’s notes.

  13. Maintains, organizes and archives all project related documents.

  14. Exercises appropriate knowledge of engineering disciplines to evaluate and coordinate work done by consultants.

  15. Exercises knowledge of professional ethics applying to the practice of architecture.

  16. Continues education through seminars and participation in professional organization activities.

  17. Contributes to the marketing efforts of the firm by networking, attending trade shows and focusing on one or two specific markets in addition to the project assignments and responsibilities listed above.

  18. Performs other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Mastery of Design Associate

Experience: Five to Ten years

Education:  Professional Degree

Architectural Licensure: Yes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise a project team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

 

Firm Ground Architects & Designers is currently looking for a Part-Time accountant. This position may grow into a Full-Time position and will report to the Business Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for performing accounting functions that require thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles, and practices. You will use your analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports, reconcile monthly activity, and manage company AP and AR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Essential job functions include the following, using QuickBooks (QB) software where applicable:

a.         Enter details of transactions.

b.        Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.

c.         Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

d.        Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules.

e.         Perform month end closings.

f.         Prepare the trial balance.

g.        Prepare monthly financial statements and reports accurately and timely.

h.        Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested.

2.      Improve processes associated with bookkeeping, invoicing, and collection on accounts to create efficiency and enhance functionality.

3.      Maintains a monthly record of company’s expenses and financial position and analyzes budgets.

4.      Coordinates invoicing with Project Managers and prepares statements.

5.      Balances company accounts and transfers funds when required.

6.      Coordinates reimbursable expenses.

7.      Prepares weekly list of fees received, checking account balance, and submits to leadership.

8.      Completes collections communication on overdue invoices.

9.      Show progression with technical skills, quality, efficiency and organizational skills.

10.   Complete assignments timely and accurately.

11.   Performs other relevant duties as presented.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 5 or more years.

  • Education: 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree or equal training and experience.

  • CPA is not required.

  • Experience with Quickbooks Online is required.

  • Experience with BQE Core preferred but not required.

  • Expected Hourly Range: $26.00-$30.00/HR
